NOIRE: Hi, Hierophany, thanks for answering my questions today. Can you introduce yourself?
IKANUNNA BG: Hello, this is Ikanunna Bg, founder and composer on Hierophany since 2006.
NOIRE: Your latest album “Tenebrario” was released on the 12th December 2025 on Serpent Sun Records Label. It’s a dark, malevolent piece, with abyssal voices and occult atmospheres. How did you compose this piece?
IKANUNNA BG: It was a peculiar process because I started in 2022 recording some riffs that I created, but all those riffs stay on my PC for 3 years when I finally started to compose the new album, then I took all those riffs I recorded years back, and then I started to compose the whole songs.
The process to create Tenebrario took me two weeks since I sat decided to create a new album and to the last day I finished the last riff, so it was two weeks of stay close doors in my studio from 4:00 pm to 4:00 am every single day for two weeks, at the end I was very satisfied with the final results.
NOIRE : What did you want to express with “Tenebrario”?
IKANUNNA BG: Absolute and pure Mysticism, we are creating this new concept around the ancient Mysticism, and my brother Faust did all the job in making the lyrics and concept after I finished to compose the whole album, so he got the music and he created the concept and wrote the lyrics.
NOIRE : Your mask is incredible. Can you tell us more about it?
IKANUNNA BG: It was designed by a friend of mine in Mexico City called Paulina Suaztegui, I told her I wanted to create a mask that can represent Death, and divinity, so the peaks on top are a representation of a divine shine emerging from the death.
NOIRE : You are now on tour to play the album on stage. What are your impressions of these live shows so far? Will you play in France?
IKANUNNA BG: Well, atm we have got very great answer from the crowd, during all our tour dates people gets fully involved by our music and the ritualistic show, so they can´t separate their attention from the stage, and that is exactly what we are looking for, a real and deep approach from the crowd to the music we are developing.
France? that would be a dream come true to us, we hope some day we can go and play for you!
